Face to Face Period
The Face to Face periods provide the environment that you will need to work with concepts and skills that require face-to-face interaction between you, the professor and your classmates.
These first face-to-face weeks in our Madrid Campus consists of learning about the Case Study Method and the starting point for the development of the courses of this period. Students will also have the opportunity to attend to seminars focused on skill-building activities and meetings, visits or conferences led by experts in the digital marketing industry.
From day one, you will work as part of a team, gathering an important interpersonal, cross-cultural experience, as well as beginning to create your IE contact network, all key to your future career.
Online Period
Our Online Campus is the focal point for the online activities and serves as a communication platform for the study groups and for teacher-led online sessions. You will participate in online forums and videoconferences every two weeks and have easy access to the comments, opinions and experiences of professors and fellow students, as well as general information on the program.
The core management and specialized courses are taught online using IE's successful methodology based on the case study method. The classes cover a range of core and specialized disciplines, business modules and activities, integrated within local, regional and global markets.
During this first period we settle the bases of the Digital Marketing and our students have a first contact with the main issues of this area.At IE Business School we believe that business education imperatively needs to be linked to the market. Therefore the second face-to-face period will be held in London, which hosts the world´s largest concentration of digital marketing players.
London is the city where the most important advertising, marketing, media and PR companies are based. The main purpose of this period is to have a 360º vision of the Digital Marketing World. To have a complete overview of the "digital advertising and marketing space" we are going to visit the most relevant players of the market: advertising and marketing agencies, media companies and the Ad:tech Exhibition (www.ad-techlondon.co.uk). All these activities will be combined with several classes taught by IE Business School faculty.
The visits to agencies and companies will allow students to develop their network of contacts within a large number of companies operating within the industry, whilst also contributing to the international experience of the program. These will be some of the companies we will visit during our residential period in London: Planning Above and Beyond, Microsoft, Yahoo.com, Media Planning Group, FT.com and Headshift.
During the second periods students have a wider contact with the different fields of the Digital Marketing area.
Online Period
Our methodology promotes the free-flowing communication between professors and students, whilst maintaining the flexibility which is so central to the program. You will participate in your own training right from the start of the course: intensive communication and a methodology that hinges on participation guarantees a high level of motivation and commitment to the program.
Students will start online some of the courses of the second period, will continue with the courses they have started in London and will work virtually during this whole period in developing the Business Plan to launch a new business idea for the digital marketing field.
Face to Face Period
The last face-to-face period held in Madrid rounds up the program. During this two week period you will do presentations of individual and group projects, and assessment tests to consolidate the work covered over the course of this period. You will also present your Business Plan as your final exam where you will apply your new business knowledge.
At the end of the period the Graduation Ceremony will close the program.
